I slated my last frame of 2011 yesterday and just want to thank all of the clients and crew that made this year possible:
I stopped photo assisting a little over 2 years ago. When assisting I spent so much time watching photographers that when it came time to step up and shoot I wasted a lot of time watching myself work (simply because it was shocking to suddenly be the boss). In hindsight, I should have been focusing on my light and pictures a lot more.
I got over that in 2011 and I think this was my first real year of work: my pictures are better this december than last december and in the end that’s what gives the labor purpose. Thank you to everyone I had the pleasure of working with- lets kill it in 2012 and all buy boats:)
…with every passing moment I get more excited for Kinfolk V.II which goes on sale tomorrow morning. Its the first time since the close of Gourmet that I’ve been so visually smitten with a publication- am so pleased to be a part of this issue!
Kira was my first work friend when I worked at Cafe Grumpy 5 years ago and Anna (photo cred) is a fellow batesie and friend- she originally put me in touch with Saveur’s photo/web team. I doubt y’all know each other? New York gets smaller every year.
